On The Rise’s 8th Annual Empty Bowls Project

Thank you to those who were able to attend our first in-person event in over a year! It was so wonderful to see familiar faces in person again. Because of you, we were able to exceed our fundraising goal of $10,000!

On The Rise’s Prepare For Winter Event

Thank you for tuning in to our first ever virtual Prepare For Winter event! We are so grateful to the over 300 people who registered for the event, and the countless more who donated.

Empty Bowl Ticketholders…

Although we were unable to gather, sit side-by-side, and enjoy the company that Empty Bowls brings, we are grateful that we were able to provide some of you with your beautiful, handmade bowls! Thank you to those who stopped by On The Rise to choose your bowl, and for supporting us now and always.

Please enjoy this delicious, 10-Spice Vegetable Soup Recipe, that fits perfectly with your spice packet!

If you were unable to make it, but are still interested in receiving your bowl, please reach out to Maddie Porter at maddie.porter@ontherise.org.

The Prepare For Winter Dinner - Thank You!

On Thursday, October 10th, more than 300 guests joined On The Rise for the 22nd Annual Prepare for Winter Dinner. We are excited to report that, thanks to you, we raised over $225,000 in critical funds to support our Safe Haven and Keep The Keys programs at 341 Broadway!

We were delighted that so many of you gathered to hear from our Event Chair, Carol Kelly, and our speaker, Board Member Emerita, Carol Goss (read her speech here!) and Board Chair, Josh Gerber.

We want to say a special thank you to the On The Rise participants who generously shared their reflections on their unique and special relationships with On The Rise in the evening's videos.

Thanks to your generosity, nearly 450 On The Rise participants from Greater Boston will find safety, tangible essentials, and the supportive relationships that they need to overcome challenges and move out of homelessness.

We want to express our sincere gratitude to each and every one of you.

Thank you for your commitment to the community,

Your friends at On The Rise

On Monday, May 20th over 80 friends celebrated the long-time service of beloved Board Chair, Carol Goss. In early 2019, Carol was elected On The Rise's first ever Board Member Emerita after 13 years of Board service at On The Rise. Together, as a community, we honor her steadfast service as a dedicated ambassador and relationship builder on behalf of the hundreds of homeless and formerly-homeless women in our Safe Haven and Keep The Keys programs.

Carol's accomplishments were recognized with a proclamation by the Mayor of the City of Cambridge, Mayor Marc McGovern and a letter of praise from State Representative Marjorie Decker. As Board Member Emerita, Carol continues to be a source of enthusiasm, guidance and support for the On The Rise community. The Friends of Carol (FOC) Fund has been created to celebrate her legacy of service and steward On The Rise through a strategic planning process for the organization's continuing success.

Thank you Carol, for your remarkable leadership!
