n The Rise is strongly
committed to respecting and protecting the privacy of all
we encounter in our work, including the community which makes
our program possible; our donors, volunteers, and supporters.
Donor’s Privacy
On The Rise holds all donor
information in strict confidence, and does not sell, share,
or trade a donor’s personal information with any other
entity. On The Rise will
only disclose personal information if required by law, such
as a court order or other request from a law enforcement
agency mandating our response. On
The Rise recognizes our donors by listing their names
in our tri-annual newsletter and other On
The Rise media, unless the donor requests to be Anonymous.
Internet Privacy
Visitors may access most portions of On
The Rise’s website (www.ontherise.org) without
having to tell us who they are or revealing any personal
information. Visitors may choose to provide personal information
for the purposes of signing up to receive our newsletter,
to be placed on our mailing list or to request additional
materials/information. On The
Rise may use this information to respond to inquiries,
to distribute requested newsletters/materials or to add
to our mailing list for future communications. On
The Rise is the sole owner of all information collected
on our website, and does not disclose this information
to any other entity unless required by law.
On The Rise tracks information
about website usage, such as the number, frequency and pattern
of visitors to our website. This information is collected
to compile non-personal aggregate data in order to improve
our content and usefulness of our site to visitors.
Visitors who wish to make a donation to On
The Rise from our website are directed to Network
For Good (powered by Guidestar), which uses high grade
encryption to process credit card transactions and information. On
The Rise is not responsible for the privacy policies
of Network For Good or any other websites which are referenced
or linked from our website. Visitors are responsible for
reviewing other websites’ privacy policies to ensure
that their personal information is protected and secure.
Donor Bill of Rights
On The Rise raises a significant
portion of its funding from the public and from donor institutions. We
recognize the following rights of donors:
- To be informed of the mission of On
The Rise, of the way the resources will be used
and of our capacity to use donations effectively
for their intended purposes;
- To be informed of the identity of those serving on On
The Rise’s governing board and to expect
the board to exercise prudent judgment in its stewardship
responsibilities;
- To have access to On The Rise’s
most recent financial reports;
- To be assured their gifts will be used for the purposes
for which they were given;
- To receive appropriate acknowledgement and recognition;
- To be assured that information about their donations
is handled with respect and with confidentiality to the
extent provided by the law;
- To expect that all relationships with individuals representing
organizations of interest to the donor will be professional
in nature;
- To be informed whether those seeking donations are volunteers,
employees of On The Rise or
hired solicitors;
- To have the opportunity for their names to be deleted
from mailing lists that an organization may intend to share;
and,
- To feel free to ask questions when making a donation
and to receive prompt, truthful and forthright answers.[1]

Changes to our Policy
On The Rise may change
our policy from time to time. Our most updated policy will
be posted on our website.
