n The Rise's Prepare for Winter Dinner brings together over 350 people for a delicous meal and inspiring evening to support the important work of On The Rise.

2008 Prepare For Winter Dinner

On The Rise invites you to join us on Wednesday, September 17, 2008, 6:00-8:30pm at the Royal Sonesta Hotel in Cambridge, MA, to celebrate our 11th Annual Prepare for Winter Dinner.

Individual tickets are $150 and will be on sale in late July. If you would like to make an advance reservation, please email info@ontherise.org .

Keynote Speaker

Janice Erlbaum, Author

Our keynote speaker will be Janice Erlbaum, the author of two books, GIRLBOMB: A Halfway Homeless Memoir (Villard, 2006), and HAVE YOU FOUND HER: A Memoir (Villard, 2008). A former resident of a shelter for homeless teens, Janice returned in her early thirties to volunteer at the same shelter that had helped to save her life. She is an active advocate for homeless and at-risk youth. A former political columnist for BUST magazine, she lives in her native home of New York City.

Jeanette Clough, CEO & President of Mount Auburn Hospital

Our Event Chair is Jeanette Clough, President and CEO of Mount Auburn Hospital, a regional teaching hospital of Harvard Medical School. Mount Auburn has annual net revenues of $300M and employs 2700 staff in 25 locations including the main campus in Cambridge. A major campus expansion including a 135,000 square foot patient care building is currently underway. Prior to joining Mount Auburn in 1998, Ms. Clough served as President and CEO of Deaconess Waltham Hospital. She began her career as a staff nurse, nurse manager and educator at Massachusetts General Hospital and holds a BSN from Boston University, a MSN from Boston College and a MHA from Suffolk University. She writes and lectures on executive leadership and the CEO’s role in leading quality and safety initiatives.
